I've never been much of a bike rider. For one thing, I'm rather, um, vertically challenged. For another, I'm also coordinationally challenged. It's hard for me to find a decent bike that my feet can touch the ground on and I don't feel too wobbly riding. For my birthday, my dear husband bought me a new awesome bike. This is the same model, except my paint job is beige with brown, paisley kind of specs on it. It's pretty pricey, and we don't really have extra money lying around, but if I actually use it and go on rides with the kids, it could be a good investment.
So, I've set up a new ticker to help incentivize me to ride my bike. My goal is to average 2 hours of bike riding a week (4 half hour sessions) until labor day weekend. Roughly, 2,400 minutes. If I have the ticker, I'm pretty good about exercising. But, I noticed after I completed my last ticker around Valentines Day and never got around to setting up a new one, my exercising plummeted.
Since Dave brought the bike home on Thursday, we've been on 3 bike rides, for a total of 90 minutes so far.

Awesome Char! As my Australian friend, Mark used to say, "Good on ya."
ReplyDeleteI hope you can get to enjoy and even look forward to bike riding. I've been told it's a pleasant thing. I can only get as far as dreaming of enjoying it, myself. I can't claim the balance thing bothers me, especially. But my shoulder muscles must be deformed or something, because it's just never comfortable for me to do for any length of time.
It sounds exciting, though.
